Keystone’s Fire Information Reporting System (FIRS) is a comprehensive, integrated solution for the complex data collection, reporting and administrative requirements of local and county fire and emergency management services agencies. The system provides complete record-keeping from complaint/incident inception to final disposition. FIRS may be used in conjunction with Keystone’s Fire/EMS Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system or as a stand alone application.
If used with CAD, all applicable incident information is automatically passed to the FIRS system as a by-product of normal dispatch procedures. Data is loaded into the main screen of FIRS where, based on security parameters, it can be added to, modified or deleted. A series of subscreens capture information describing the origin, ignition factor, method of extinguishment and extent of flame and smoke damage of the fire, as well as data regarding civilian and public safety personnel injured or involved in the incident.
To meet the very specific needs of fire reporting, Keystone designed FIRS to conform to the National Fire Incident Reporting System (NFIRS) requirements of the National Fire Information Council (NFIC). All FIRS reports have been approved by the NFIC.
FIRS includes approximately fifty standard reports which compile data on everything from case statistics and equipment inventory, to personnel
rosters and training. Reports that are customized for a specific client are made available to all other customer sites. Due to the fact that procedures differ from one department to the next, this feature presents fire and EMS personnel with new perspectives on how to more efficiently collect, manipulate and compile data so that it may better assist them in the areas of prevention and community education.
